On 18 October 2014, our Parish was blessed to have hosted the St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College ADULT FAITH SEMINAR. Presented by Dr Philip Kariatlis, Mr Anastasios Kallogerakis and Mr Vasili Psilachos who were all graduates of our Theological College and and current lecturers and administrators, the day was very informative, enlightening and entertaining. We present to you the opening address and accompanying PowerPoint presentation delivered by Philip:

From 21 to 24 September 2014 our Parish hosted the annual Youth Camp at the brand new site of St Andrew’s Theological College, Bribie Island Retreat & Recreation Centre. The youth had a great time and made new friendships. Their faith was strengthened by their participation in the Divine Liturgy held in the chapel to celebrate the Virgin Mary ‘Mytidiotissa’. A big thanks go to our volunteers, staff at the site, and the parents who sent their children.

The Greek Orthodox Parish-Community of the Dormition of the Theotokos is situated in the South-Eastern Brisbane suburb of Mt Gravatt. At its heart is the Church of which the current one was established under the then-guidance of Reverend Father Isidoros Sideris (+ 1989), with the foundation stone being laid in 1974. Our current Parish priests are the Reverend Father Nicholas Brown, a graduate of St Andrew’s Greek Orthodox Theological College in Sydney, and the Very Reverend Father Constantine Lentakis who has faithfully served the Parish since 1980. Our Parish is under the spiritual care of His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos – Primate of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, and serves the many needs of the local Greek and English speaking Orthodox Christians.
